Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 19 October 2026
These terms apply when you book a private tour, transfer or gift card with Linktours Scotland, and when you use our website. Please read them before you book — by booking, you agree to them. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
1. About us
Linktours Scotland is the trading name of Linktours Scotland Ltd, a company registered in Scotland (company number SC772699), with its registered office at 5 South Charlotte Street, Edinburgh, Scotland, EH2 4AN. You can contact us by email at admin@linktours.co.uk or by phone or WhatsApp on +44 7827 289323.
2. Booking and payment
- Our prices are in pounds sterling (GBP) and, unless stated otherwise, are for your whole private group of up to 8 guests — not per person.
- Payment is taken in full when you book. Card payments are processed securely by Stripe; we never see or store your card details.
- Your booking is confirmed when payment has been received and we've sent you a booking confirmation. Please check it carefully and tell us straight away if anything is wrong.
- Prices on our website can change, but the price confirmed at booking won't change for that booking.
- If we've made an obvious error in a price, we'll contact you before your tour and you can choose to pay the correct price or cancel for a full refund.
- If you booked through a travel agent or online travel agency, that company's own payment and cancellation terms apply to your booking, alongside our terms about the tour itself.
3. What's included
Each tour and transfer page lists what's included and what isn't. Unless that page says otherwise, the price includes your private vehicle and driver-guide, hotel pickup and drop-off, and the free car seats described in section 7. Entry tickets to castles and attractions, optional boat cruises, steam-train tickets, meals, gratuities and personal expenses are not included. Accommodation is not included on multi-day tours.
4. Cancelling or changing your booking
- You can cancel up to 24 hours before your booking's start time (UK time) for a full refund. No refunds are given after that. If we ever have to cancel your booking ourselves because of bad weather, road closures or other circumstances beyond our control, you'll receive a full refund.
- To cancel, contact us by email, phone or WhatsApp. Refunds are made to the original payment method.
- If you'd like to change the date or time, contact us as early as possible — we'll do our best to help, subject to availability.
- Because our tours and transfers are leisure services for a specific date, the 14-day cancellation period under the Consumer Contracts Regulations doesn't apply. Our cancellation policy above applies instead.
5. Changes and cancellations by us
- Our tours are private and flexible. Your driver-guide may change the order of stops, shorten time at a stop or choose an alternative because of weather, traffic, road closures, opening times or safety, or to suit your group. We'll always try to keep the highlights of your tour.
- If we have to cancel your booking ourselves — for example because of bad weather, road closures or other circumstances beyond our control — you'll receive a full refund.
- Some parts of a tour depend on other companies, such as ferries, cruises and attractions. If they change or cancel their service, we'll offer an alternative where we can. On the 4-day Isle of Skye tour, if the Armadale–Mallaig ferry is unavailable or cancelled, we cross by the Skye Bridge instead.
- Start and finish times on our website are approximate and can be affected by traffic and conditions on the day.
6. Pickup and punctuality
- Please give us your exact pickup address and a mobile number we can reach on the day, and be ready at the pickup point at the agreed time. Your driver will wait at the closest possible safe stopping place.
- Your driver will wait up to 30 minutes after the agreed pickup time. If we can't reach you and you haven't arrived by then, the booking is treated as a no-show and isn't refunded.
- If you're running late, please contact us. Time lost to a late start may not be possible to make up, and the tour may still finish at its scheduled time.
- For airport arrivals, we monitor your flight and adjust the pickup time if it lands early or late.
7. Group size, children and car seats
- Our vehicles carry a maximum of 8 guests. We can't carry more passengers than the number booked or the vehicle's seats.
- Under UK law, children must use a suitable car seat until they're 12 years old or 135 cm tall, whichever comes first, and everyone must wear a seat belt. We provide one baby seat, one child seat and one booster seat free of charge — please reserve them when you book and tell us your children's ages. If you need more, contact us before booking.
- Children must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult throughout the tour.
8. Health, safety and conduct
- Some stops involve walking on uneven paths, steps or slopes, and Scottish weather can change quickly. Please tell us about any mobility needs or medical conditions when you book, so we can plan suitable stops, and bring suitable clothing and footwear.
- We recommend that you have travel insurance.
- Please follow your driver-guide's safety instructions. Smoking and vaping are not allowed in our vehicles.
- We may refuse to carry, or end the tour for, anyone whose behaviour is unsafe, abusive or threatening, or who is too intoxicated to travel safely, without a refund.
- If our vehicle is damaged or needs specialist cleaning because of deliberate or careless behaviour, we may charge the reasonable cost.
- Please keep your belongings with you. If you leave something in the vehicle, contact us and we'll do our best to return it.
9. Gift cards
- Gift cards are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase and can be used for any of our tours or transfers.
- Gift cards can't be refunded or exchanged for cash. If your booking costs more than the gift card's value, you pay the difference.
- Bookings made with a gift card follow these terms, including our cancellation policy.
10. Our liability
- We are a fully insured, licensed private hire tour operator, and we provide our services with reasonable care and skill.
- Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't be limited or excluded by law.
- Otherwise, our total liability to you for any booking is limited to the price you paid for it, and we aren't responsible for losses that weren't reasonably foreseeable, for business losses, or for losses caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
- We aren't responsible for services provided by other companies, such as attractions, cruises, ferries, restaurants or travel agents, which are provided under their own terms.
11. Complaints
If something isn't right, please tell your driver-guide on the day so we can try to put it right straight away, or contact us as soon as possible afterwards by email, phone or WhatsApp.
12. Using our website
- We work hard to keep our website accurate, but itineraries, opening times and other details can change. If something matters to your plans, please check with us before you book.
- The text and photographs on this website belong to us or are used with permission. Please don't copy them without our written permission.
- You mustn't misuse our website, for example by trying to gain unauthorised access, introducing viruses, sending spam through our forms or scraping its content.
- Our website links to other websites, such as review sites and attractions. We aren't responsible for their content.
- How we use your personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version on our website when you made your booking applies to that booking.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by Scots law, and the Scottish courts have jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere in the United Kingdom, you may also bring proceedings in the courts where you live.
